Study on CFCs in Clusters in India – Learning from Case Studies and Way Forward
This study aims to identify indicators of success, factors promoting success, and further measures to enhance Community Forest Cooperatives (CFCs). Through stakeholder discussions and analysis, factors such as SPV registration, leadership composition, and land ownership emerged as influential. Success is measured by factors including application approval time, operational speed, machinery utilization, and economic metrics. Recommendations will address improving SPV registration processes, leadership training, and aligning CFC purposes with community needs. Understanding these dynamics will facilitate the sustainable development and effectiveness of CFCs in community forestry initiatives.
