In June 2005, with the unwavering support of the UNIDO Cluster Development Programme, we took a monumental step forward and established FMC as a Registered Trust.
Our mission was clear and heartfelt: to uplift MSMEs through cluster and value chain-led development. It was a moment filled with hope and determination.
Expanding Horizons in India
From that humble beginning, we have grown exponentially. We have touched the lives of over 100,000 MSMEs, directly and indirectly, and have implemented over 255 thematic area projects.
Our team has tirelessly conducted studies and research in another 150 MSME clusters, nurturing growth and development in these regions.
Collaborating with 250 Business Membership Organizations (BMOs), we have fortified the backbone of the MSME sector. Each project, each collaboration, is a testament to our commitment and passion.

SFURTI Programme: A Journey of Collaboration
Designing the SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) in 2005 and presenting it to the government was a pivotal moment for us. When the government recognized its potential and transformed it into a ₹1000 crore scheme to revitalize 100 clusters, our hearts swelled with pride.
Since 2019, we’ve been the nodal agency for SFURTI, actively involved in 84 clusters. Prior to this, we were on the ground as a technical agency, guiding implementing agencies with unwavering dedication.

Evolution of the Cluster Development Programme
In 2007, we restructured the Small Industry Cluster Development Programme (SICDP) and transformed it into the Micro and Small Enterprise Cluster Development Programme (MSECDP). This transformation symbolized our renewed focus on nurturing micro and small enterprises, an endeavour close to our hearts.
